This drawing reminds me of high school. I was a visual arts major at a school for artistic kids. I would recommend this kind of education to anyone so inclined. Having said that, there were many assignments to do still life studies or standard model poses that were kind of dull to me at the time. I might have been more interested in something like Dr. Sketchy's back then. I've developed some fondness for this sort of thing since then. It's mostly nostalgia. But yes, art teachers of yore, drawing pears in a bowl does help you get better at seeing! I admit it! Sorry for being such a jerk in class.
